Royal dress ”Stripes”

The outfit was made for Netmaskernes exhibition “Royal Inspiration” held in 2010 at the Royal Museum at the Danish Queen’s residence, Amalienborg, in Copenhagen, in commemoration of Queen Margaret’s 70th birthday.  The theme for the exhibition was to create knitted designs inspired by the Queen’s wardrobe of dresses.  “Stripes” was inspired by a dress that was designed by the Danish designer Erik Mortensen for the House of Balmain in 1987 (www.kongedragter.dk).  The outfit is comprised of a jacket and skirt made from linen yarn.
